The Objectives of this module are framed as following:
Readers
will be able to paraphrase (say it in own words) their take on CALL;
Also,
they will be able to explain the constructivist theory in education;
Finally,
they will be able to deduce the role of the instructor and the learner in a
language class using a CALL program under a constructivist theory.
Activity
1: Video CALL. The purpose of this video clip is to visually reinforce the
understanding of CALL, virtual word, and their relationship with constructivist
theory. It provides the reader with snapshot of literature and pioneer names of
CALL. This activity addresses the objective one.
Use a learning
theory: constructivism. This activity explains the constructivist theory. The
purpose of this video is to give a practical understanding of constructivist
theory to the ready. This activity
addresses the objective two.
Activity 3: Training teacher to CALL (Click on each title to see activity related to it) This video shows the importance of
training the instructor into the use of CALL, as they have to lead their
students into the constructivist instruction. Also, the video shows the difference
between diverse types of CALL, from traditional to modern CALL by mentioning
the multimedia and the web-based CALL. The purpose of this activity is to show
the importance of training teachers to the use of CALL. This activity addresses
the objective three.
